A participant is an individual or organization that filed a Petition to Participate during a specific filing period in proceedings filed before the Copyright Royalty Board.
New participants may be added to a case when filing a Petition to Participate. On subsequent filings, users can select the participants associated with a case from a drop-down list on the Add Documents page.
You may add co-counsel when filing a Petition to Participate or when filing a Notice of Appearance.
Yes. When submitting a filing, you will see a list of who will receive electronic delivery and of who will need you to deliver the document via an alternative method. If an alternative method is required, you must indicate which method you will use to deliver the document.
Yes. You may add email addresses for others in your law firm on the Review Submission page, which is the final screen you will see before you submit a filing.
If a filing is successful, you will see a submission receipt on screen and receive confirmation by email. You may also view the filing on your dashboard after logging in to the system. The filing will show as pending until approved by the Copyright Royalty Board.
If you are encountering technical problems with an eCRB filing, you must immediately notify the Copyright Royalty Board of the problem either by email ( [email protected] ) or by telephone 202-707-7658 (followed promptly by written confirmation). Then, you should submit the filing via email. The filing date will match the timestamp in the email. See Governing Laws.
To view the status of documents you have filed, log in to eCRB. On your dashboard, documents filed but not yet approved by the Copyright Royalty Board are listed under the Pending tab. Approved documents are under the Processed tab.
To view approved documents filed by others, use the Case Search page to find the docket to view. Click on the caption, short name, or View button to open the Case details page. Use the text search boxes to locate documents.
You are responsible for physically marking documents as restricted pursuant to protective orders. When filing a restricted document, select the level of access from the Document access dropdown. Restricted documents will be displayed with a closed padlock icon. Non-restricted aka Public documents will be displayed with a globe icon.
During filing, on the Add Document screen, you may click the padlock icon to remove a restricted designation. A document is unrestricted when the padlock icon appears unlocked.
Yes. During the upload process, you may upload a restricted and a redacted version of the same document. Carefully select the right access permissions for each document, versions containing personally identifiable information, or sensitive or confidential information should be designated as restricted, while redacted versions can remain unrestricted.
You may edit a submission while filing. You have the option to select Withdraw and Edit or Withdraw and Discard pending filings and filings you have submitted that are awaiting Copyright Royalty Board review. Once a document has been processed, it cannot be edited.
Yes, documents are considered filed when the submission is approved. Once a document is approved, the date the document was submitted will be the filed date.
As registered users associated with a docket, you are notified by email when new documents are filed to that docket.

Auth0 Guardian, used in eCRB for multi-factor authentication (MFA), is an application that includes a mobile app that can deliver push notifications to a user’s pre-registered device - typically a mobile phone or tablet - from which a user can immediately allow or deny account access via the press of a button. It can also generate one-time passwords via SMS/text messaging and phone calls.
Registration & logging inAfter you have downloaded the app on your mobile phone and followed the installation steps provided in the app, log in to eCRB with your normal credentials. You will then receive a push notification from Auth0 Guardian on your mobile device requesting verification of the eCRB login attempt. The options will be Allow or Deny. Simply select Allow in the Auth0 Guardian notification to confirm your login. If your mobile device is synchronized to a smart watch, you may also get notifications and confirm your login with your Android Wear or Apple Watch.
